Be especially sensitive to a friend who is undergoing (or who has just gone through) a particularly stressful situation, such as the death of a loved one, school problems, a breakup with a girlfriend or boyfriend. He or she might discuss plans or suicidal thoughts with a friend (rather than a parent or other family member), or may clam up completely. The following are indications that your friend is crying out for help.

• Any indication of a previous suicide attempt

• Plans or attempts to secure a means for suicide, such as guns or drugs

• Thinking or talking about suicide or death

• Scratching, cutting or marking the body

• Risk-taking behavior, like running into traffic, jumping from heights, running away, general and unusual    rebelliousness

• Withdrawal from friends and family and regular activities. or loss of interest in activities he or she once enjoyed

• Drug and alcohol use

• Unusual neglect of personal appearance

• Marked personality change, or unpredictable mood swings like sudden bouts of violence or crying

• Persistent boredom, difficulty concentrating, or a decline in the quality of schoolwork

• Frequent complaints about physical symptoms related to emotions, such as stomachaches, headaches, fatigue. etc.

• Not tolerating praise or rewards

• Complaining of being “rotten inside”

• Giving verbal hints with statements such as: “I won’t be a problem for you much longer,”“Nothing matters,”“It’s no use” or “I won’t see you again.”

• Putting his/her affairs in order. For example, giving away favored possessions or throwing away important belongings.

• Becoming suddenly cheerful after a prolonged period of depression

• Changes in energy level or sleep patterns.

Alligator - The Chinese alligator is endangered due to habitat destruction and capture programs. Most alligators are found in Southeastern United States and the Yangtze River Basin of China. Alligators live in freshwater takes, swamps. rivers. Alligators are carnivores; they eat fish, birth, turtles, frogs, and small mammals. Young alligators eat worms, small fish, and insects. The female alligator lays 30 to 40 eggs in a nest built of mud and plant material. The female guards the eggs as they incubate in the sun for about 60 days. Alligators communicate using grunts, bellows, hisses, and other vocalizations. Unlike crocodiles, the alligator’s two large lower teeth are hidden when it’s jaw is closet The American alligator has webbed feet; the Chinese alligator does not.

Ant - There are 45 species of ants that are at risk due to habitat destruction. Ants are found in almost all parts of the world: the most abundant population is in the tropics. Most ants are omnivores: they eat plant juices, seeds, fruits, other insects, and honeydew. a sugary liquid secreted by aphids. Only queen ants lay eggs. Ants pass through egg. larva, pupa. and adult stages. The ants’ life span is less than six months on the average: some worker and queen ants live for several years. Most queen ants have wings that tear off after mating. Ants use scent trails to find their way back to their nest. Army ants travel in long, narrow columns in search of prey.
